Leaked: OnePlus is painfully secretive in memo

A memo for OnePlus employees will be released online this weekend and it’s a little painful to say the least.

Since this month, OnePlus and OPPO have been working closely together. But what exactly that collaboration means is still quite unclear. OnePlus employees have now been told how to provide clarity: namely not. A leaked memo illustrates how fuzzy the relationship between the two sister companies is.

Painful OnePlus Memo

well-known tasty Evan Blass late on Twitter see screenshots of a script for OnePlus employees. This shows how sensitive the cooperation between OnePlus and OPPO is. OnePlus employees are expressly instructed not to disclose anything about the merger regarding operating systems:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not respond to questions about Color OS or any operating system related to the collaboration announcement. Please only use the response below: “We currently have no operating system updates. Please keep an eye on our official channels for more information.

Assuming that the memo is indeed from OnePlus, it is very striking and somewhat worrying that this response is maintained. After all, the merger between OnePlus and OPPO is official. OnePlus, on the other hand, promised that OxygenOS would stay. Why can’t employees just confirm this to the press and fans?

Apparently the OS’s of the two are more sensitive than expected. The OPPO operating system in particular is a confrontation that must be avoided. Why is not clear from the memo, although it is clear that OnePlus for whatever reason does not dare to confirm anything.
