Due to a recent bug, the Roomba robot vacuum cleaner literally makes a mess and that produces funny images.
Robot vacuum cleaners are now fairly integrated into the household of tech enthusiasts. But recently, one of the best-known robot vacuum cleaner brands, the Roomba, seems to be especially pretty drunk. Automatic vacuuming has become completely impossible due to a software error and the results are quite funny.
Roomba bug makes a mess of it
The Roomba should actually be able to vacuum every house neatly autonomously, but a recent bug proves to be very difficult. Many users report that their robot vacuum cleaner has completely stopped working since update 3.12.8, according to TheVerge.
The vacuum cleaners seem to be drunk, banging into everything and unable to find their way back to the charging station. Such an incident can be seen perfectly in the timelaps below; even in an empty room, Roomba has absolutely no idea what to do.
Unfortunately for owners of a Roomba, the bug will remain for a while. The company behind the technology, iRobot (no, not the Will Smith movie), tells the linked medium that it may take a few more weeks for a fix to come.
So you can conclude that the recent update has made a mess! Currently, the Roomba sucks quite a bit. iRobot can therefore suck a tip from the competition in terms of software. But it will take a while before users can clean up their house. Until then, they have to get their hands dirty on a manual vacuum cleaner!
