The fourth beta version of Android 12 has been released by Google and this is the last beta before the stable version of Android 12 is rolled out.

Android 12 is almost ready

After a series of preview versions, the first beta in May, the second beta in June and the Beta 3 in July, we have now arrived at the fourth and final beta version of Android 12. That means that the test phase is almost complete and that we can now look forward to the stable version of Android 12 that everyone can get started with, as soon as the Android version becomes available for his or her phone.

The fourth beta version focuses on Platform Stability. That is, the Android 12 APIs are ready. It is now even more important for app developers to make their apps suitable for this, so that their apps do not encounter unexpected problems when rolling out Android 12. The August security update is also in the fourth beta version.

Only a release candidate

“In the coming weeks” Google will release “another beta version”, although it will not be named as such, but only considered as a so-called release candidate. That means that Android 12 is almost ready. So no major changes have been added.

The fourth beta version of Android 12 is now available for Pixel phones, and in this article we’ll show you how to get started with the new features on your Pixel phone. If you already have the third Beta on your phone, you should just receive the second version as an Over The Air (OTA) update.
