JBL Flip 6 official: waterproof and dustproof bluetooth speaker

JBL has presented its new Flip 6, the new generation of its compact Bluetooth speaker that is now not only waterproof but also dustproof. According to JBL, it comes with a richer sound. We discuss what’s new about the Flip 6

Samsung may have recently released its Galaxy Z Flip 3, but at JBL they are now on the sixth generation of the Flip series. The Flip 6 comes with an improved sound and the design has also been addressed. It is striking that it is IP68 water and dust resistant for the first time. This means that he can create a nice atmosphere on the beach without any worries. It can also survive a splash in the water, up to 1.5 meters deep, for half an hour.

According to JBL, something has also changed on the inside, because the speaker has a new setup with double passive radiators for the bass sound. The woofer still has a racetrack-shaped woofer, and there’s a separate tweeter for richer highs.

The device also works with a newer bluetooth version, namely bluetooth 5.1, and that should give a boost to the range of the bluetooth signal compared to the Flip 5. The battery life has not changed, because it lasts for 12 hours with one charge. Finally, it still works with PartyBoost, which is a function that allows you to link multiple speakers together.

Price and availability

Traditionally, the Flip range comes in many different colours, and for the Flip 6 they are called: Dusty Pink, Gray Stone, River Teal, Fiesta Red, Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Steel White, Forest Green and Squad.
