Is your link opening in the wrong app? That’s how you solve it

With ‘Open Link With …’ you choose which app you use to open a web link. This way you can select an app of your choice if a link opens incorrectly in your browser. We explain how it works.

Android phone users will no doubt recognize this minor frustration. You tap a link and it will open in your browser instead of the correct app already installed on your phone. The free ‘Open Link With app …’ comes to the rescue and saves you from this situation.

If a link is opened incorrectly in Chrome again, choose ‘Share’ from now on and select: ‘Open Link With …’. Then you choose the right app from a selection menu to open your link. You can also choose the option ‘Always’ at the bottom if you always want to open web links in this app. Keep in mind that this system works independently of the system settings of your phone. If you choose ‘Always’, the app in question will always be used to open the link via ‘Open Link With …’. So it may be that another app is set as default in your phone’s settings. You can have your preferred app adjusted in the settings of Open Link With … ‘.

Escape route

This app is therefore primarily a handy escape route when a link is opened again with a wrong app. In a few seconds you have the right app, while it would otherwise take much longer. Open Link With is also suitable if you want to quickly open a certain link with another app. Suppose, for example, you have two clients for Twitter on your phone, then you can easily switch between the apps.
