Is Ikea’s practical solution about to start?
Ikea has been able to convince more than once with practical solutions for small everyday problems. There are now indications that the Åskväder socket, which is popular in Sweden, will soon be available in Germany.
A self-laid surface socket or just a practical way of laying a power connection where you actually need it – this is what the products in the Åskväder range from Ikea, which celebrated their debut in Sweden in the spring, offer. It was initially unclear whether the modular socket outlet systems would even come to Germany – or when – but now it looks as if it would not be long.
Ikea Åskväder: first accessories spotted in stores
Because cables and switching elements of the modular sockets are already being sold in an Ikea branch in Frankfurt (source: iFun). Readers of the Apple portal iFun have found the accessories there. They have been in this country since the start in Sweden and Denmark in the spring not shown in the Ikea online shop.
It is unusual that initially only the accessories for the actual product are in stock. Keeping products available, being able to deliver items that are in high demand – that is currently the case, however a real challenge not only, but also for Ikea. The furniture store chain recently announced that it would reduce its range in the wake of the tight availability.
When does Ikea start selling in Germany?
So when can German customers count on the practical Åskväder sockets? We can probably rule out that the sale in the furniture store was an accident. On the contrary, it suggests that it will be launched in Germany won’t be long. From the official side, however, there is no start date.
