iPhone locked? You can take these 3 steps

It may happen that you enter your iPhone passcode incorrectly. First you will receive a notification that your device will be temporarily locked, after six times your iPhone will be locked. How do you undo that? You should do this if your iPhone is locked.

iPhone blocked: this is how you solve it

If your iPhone is locked, there is nothing you can do but erase the data on the device. You can do that through Finder, iTunes, Find My iPhone, or through recovery mode. You can then restore your data and settings to the device.

1. Sync with iTunes

If you have regularly synchronized your iPhone with iTunes, you can restore the device with iTunes. You connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable. Select the device via iTunes and click on ‘Make backup’. Then choose recovery and the option ‘No backup’. Once the recovery process has started, you wait. If necessary, select the backup you just created. After completion, your iPhone is ready to use again.

2. Not synced with iTunes

If you have never synchronized the iPhone with iTunes, this is a fairly hard solution, because your iPhone will be completely reset. You switch off your device completely and connect it to your computer with a USB cable.

Then press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen on your iPhone screen. Then release the button. Now you can restore iPhone through iTunes. This method works for all models from the iPhone X, iPhone SE from 2020 and iPhone 8 (Plus).

Do you have an iPhone 7 (Plus), iPhone 6S or older model? Then you have to press and hold the volume down / home button while pairing your phone with the computer. Then wait for the recovery mode to boot and then release.

3. Find my iPhone

If you have made a backup, you can restore your iPhone via iCloud. Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Click on ‘Find my iPhone’ and delete your iPhone. You can then reset the device. Make sure you choose a code that you can remember or write it down somewhere.
