‘iPhone 15 Pro only gets Face ID below the screen’
With the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple is unable to hide the sensors for Face ID under the screen, but that will happen with the iPhone 15 Pro. This reports display analyst Ross Young.

iPhone 15 Pro: Face ID below the screen
This year, Apple wants to say goodbye to the notch at the top of the screen with the Pro models. This currently houses the selfie camera; Apple will soon hide it in a pill-shaped hole. The parts for Face ID also nestle in the notch and move behind the display. At least, that was the intention.
For Apple, the iPhone 14 comes too early to put Face ID behind the screen. That’s why, according to an earlier message from Young, Apple is said to have plans for a controversial iPhone 14 Pro design. Not only will there be a cutout for the selfie camera, but there is also a hole for the dot projector for Face ID.
The already controversial design may be short-lived. In a follow-up tweet, Young reports that Apple will hide the infrared camera behind the screen in 2023 or 2024. This means that the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro will have a single camera hole design. The reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously reported that Face ID will not be placed under the screen until 2023.
Apple could have made it a lot easier for itself, by returning to Touch ID. This poses fewer technical challenges; several Android manufacturers have already managed to integrate the fingerprint scanner into the screen. However, according to Apple, Face ID is much more secure, so Touch ID would be a step back.
iPhone 14
The iPhone 14 models are expected in September 2022. Four new devices will be added again. Apple does change the formats. The mini model disappears and in its place comes an iPhone 14 Max, which has a 6.7-inch screen. You can read more about the iPhone 14 below:
