iPhone 15 Pro may have to do without this feature
Apple is rumored to be doing away with the buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro and using touch-sensitive solid-state buttons instead. However, this plan now seems off the table, if we are to believe the information of a well-known analyst.

Kuo: iPhone 15 Pro without touch-sensitive buttons
We’ve been in the past few weeks iPhoned not the only ones who said Apple is going to change the buttons on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro. The ‘ordinary’ keys have to make way for so-called ‘solid-state’ buttons that you can no longer press and that only give vibrations with the help of a motor. However, this information now appears to be outdated.
Well-informed analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who also spoke of these touch-sensitive buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro in the past, backs down on this. In a recent article on Medium, Kuo states that Apple will use physical buttons for the iPhone 15 Pro, as we know them from the current iPhone 14 models.
My latest research indicates that due to unresolved technical issues prior to mass production, both high-end iPhone 15 Pro models (Pro and Pro Max) will forego the solid-state buttons and use traditional physical buttons.

iPhone 15 Pro is still in development
He adds that the iPhone 15 Pro is still in the development phase, so there is still time to change the design. In addition, removing the solid-state buttons simplifies the development and testing process. Based on these factors, the removal of the solid-state buttons should have a limited impact on the mass production and launch schedule of the Pro models.
Meanwhile, analyst Jeff Pu also talks about Apple abandoning touch-sensitive keys on the iPhone 15 Pro. It is quite possible that Apple has indeed abandoned this plan for the 2023 models due to technical hurdles and resumed implementation next year for the iPhone 16 Pro.
