iPhone 14 gets a completely new design: new look, without notch

The iPhone 13 is an excellent smartphone, but in appearance almost identical to the iPhone 12. According to Gurman, the iPhone 14 will get a completely new design.

That says Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter. The minor upgrades the iPhone 13 has received this year means Apple is working on bigger changes in the background. In addition, he expects new entry-level and Pro models.

iPhone 14 design: no notch

This isn’t the first time rumors of a new iPhone 14 design have surfaced. Ming-Chi Kuo has previously said that Apple is likely to drop the notch (the notch at the top of the screen) on the iPhone. Kuo calls the new design a ‘punch-hole’, which is comparable to the small camera hole you see on many Android devices.

Touch ID under the screen

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is also developing Touch ID under the screen behind the scenes. However, it is not certain whether this is already planned for 2022. Kuo recently said this will be part of the 2023 iPhone. He also mentioned that Apple is planning a ‘foldable’ iPhone in 2024.

Exit iPhone mini

According to the rumors, Apple will stop with the mini and the iPhone 13 mini will be the last of this small device. The focus, on the other hand, will be on the new ‘iPhone 14 Max’. This means that the new line-up consists of a standard iPhone, an iPhone Max and two iPhone Pro devices.
