‘iPhone 13 Pro becomes first iPhone with 1 terabyte of memory’

With apps taking up more and more space, Apple would take a big step with the iPhone 13: the Pro models would get a storage of 1 terabyte.

Read on after the ad.

‘iPhone 13 storage 1 terabyte for the first time’

The rumor comes from Jon Prosser, who cites his own October 2020 rumor in a new video. In it, he states that these plans are now well advanced and ‘most iPhone 13 Pro prototypes have 1 terabyte of internal memory’.

This extra storage option would only be reserved for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The cheaper iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini would get less internal memory to keep the price lower and persuade users to subscribe to iCloud storage, Prosser says.

What this means for the storage choices is not yet clear. For the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, the maximum internal memory is now 512GB. And because, unlike some Android phones, you cannot expand this memory, that is really the maximum storage of the device.

In the past, Apple has often chosen to delete the smallest storage capacity when an extra option was added. That would mean that you would soon be able to choose from the following memory capacities:

  • iPhone 13 Pro: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB

More and more known about iPhone 13

Although they have to wait at least until September for the new iPhones, slowly but surely more and more rumors are coming out. For example, Apple would work on a smaller notch and a fingerprint scanner under the screen.

It is also questionable whether the 2021 iPhone will be called ‘iPhone 13’. Apple would like to avoid the misfortune and possibly consider the name ‘iPhone 12S’, also because it does not make as many groundbreaking improvements as last year.
