iPhone 11 vs iPhone 12: comparison of battery life with dark mode
A new video compares the battery life of iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 with light mode and dark mode. The first has an LCD screen, the second has an OLED screen. This helps, since the pixels turn off when there is a black background.
The video watch iPhone 12 with light mode on the left, iPhone 12 with dark mode in the center, and iPhone 11 with dark mode on the right. Several one-hour tests are carried out on each model to take stock of autonomy. There is a call, texting, reading e-mail, web browsing, using Instagram, sleep mode, playing videos on YouTube, gaming, mapping, use of Spotify and Snapchat.
It was the iPhone 11 that succumbed first, when Spotify tested. The iPhone 12 has 4% battery remaining in light mode and 13% in the model with dark mode. These percentages appear after 8 hours and 47 minutes of use, as well as 16 hours of standby mode.
The OLED and the dark mode of the iPhone 12 therefore provide better battery life. The remaining 13% allow you to have between 1h30 and 2 hours of additional autonomy depending on use.
The video ends with the iPhone 12 in light mode and its 4% battery life, and the iPhone 12 in dark mode and its 13% battery life. IPhone 12 with dark mode had 9% left when iPhone 12 with light mode turned off. This allowed him to last 34 additional minutes.
