iPad mini is becoming less mini
The iPad mini will increase in size and will therefore become less mini. Read here how big Apple’s device will be.
The rumor mill is running at full speed. The iPad mini is coming and that is exciting news for many people. According to an Apple expert, this iPad will soon come with a larger screen. This has been unclear for a long time, but now the display analyst comes up with the screen size.
iPad mini less mini
The iPad mini has been around for a while and has had a 7.9-inch screen since the first model. Ross Young is the expert now saying that the yet-to-be-launched iPad mini 6 will have an 8.3-inch screen inch to get. For the mathematicians among us: that’s almost half an inch larger. Not very much, but an increase for a relatively small screen. The display size can grow, because there will be narrower screen edges. The home button will also disappear from the screen. This gives the device more of the looks of the larger iPads, such as the iPad Pro. Due to the new design, more space has been made for the screen.
More information
There were already rumors that the mini would come with a new display. So it now appears that this will be a larger version. In previous posts there was even talk of a 9-inch screen. That is not confirmed with this new information and it will therefore be 8.3 inches. Young also says the mini doesn’t get an LED. Other sources, such as Digitimes, claim that it does. Apple will probably start using LCD. We know this screen from the iPad Air.
The mini is likely to arrive in September this year. It is also necessary, the last iPad mini that received an update is already two and a half years old.
