iOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1 add the Freeform app for collaborative work
Apple today released the first beta for iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1, and one of the new things is the arrival of Freeform. It is an Apple application for collaborative work.
Freeform is an all-new collaboration app with an adaptable space that lets teams view, share, and collaborate on content in one place without worrying about page layout or size, while leveraging a full compatibility with the Apple Pencil. Users can view the contributions of other team members as they add content or make changes, while enjoying a real-time collaboration space.
Freeform lets teams initiate a collaboration session with FaceTime and see edits made by others directly in the Messages thread.
On the other hand, the iPadOS 16.2 beta re-enables support for external displays on iPads with an M1 or M2 chip. Although Stage Manager is functional on older iPad Pros without M1 or M2 chips, these tablets will not be able to use Stage Manager with an external display.
At the moment, the beta of iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1 is available for developers. The public beta should be coming soon.
