In these 10 countries people are the unhappiest

People are not happy all over the world. This is sometimes due to politics, financial issues, a lack of social support and the effects of the pandemic. In our weekly ranking, we show you ten countries where people are the unhappiest.

In January 2023 is the eleventh time in a row World Happiness Report appeared. This provides information about how happy or unhappy people are around the world. We give you an overview and show you the ten countries in which people feel the least lucky.

Where are people the unhappiest?

The report examined satisfaction or dissatisfaction in the years 2020 to 2022 using the criteria of social support, income, life expectancy, freedoms, corruption and trust in state institutions. In the following ranking we present you the top ten countries with the unhappiest inhabitants.

10th place: Afghanistan

Afghanistan is the lowest ranked country in the world for happiness. This is largely due to the ongoing war that has been going on for more than two decades. Women and fringe groups in particular are also the primary victims of vehement violence.
