Ikea’s new air purifier is cheaper than expected
Ikea has introduced a new air purifier called Uppåtvind and made it available immediately. It should be able to filter more than 99.5 percent of the particles in the air. Compared to other air purifiers, Uppåtvind is cheaper. It is primarily intended for small rooms.

Ikea has expanded its range of air purifiers with a new model, the significantly cheaper is. The Uppåtvind is smaller and has a handle to easily transport it from one room to another. The dimensions are 28 × 22.5 × 12 cm, the manufacturer specifies the weight as 2 kg (source: Ikea).
Of the integrated particle filter according to Ikea, manages to absorb more than 99.5 percent of the small particles in the air, such as dust and pollen, down to a size of 0.1 microns. An LED display shows when the particle filter should be replaced. Ikea recommends changing every six months. The Uppåtvind pre-filter, on the other hand, can be easily vacuumed off.
With the air filter you can choose between three blower levels, which are noticeable with different performance and background noise. The power consumption is between 2.4 and 8 watts. According to Ikea, Uppåtvind is primarily designed for small spaces. With a room size of 7 m², the air is completely cleaned five times an hour. Longer cleaning times are to be expected in larger rooms.

Ikea’s new air purifier costs 35 euros
The new air filter can be ordered immediately or bought in a furniture store. It costs 35 euros and is only available in white (see Ikea). Replacement particle filters are available for 5 euros. Other air filters such as Förnuglich and Starkvind sometimes cost significantly more.
