With a friend who will turn over every penny when it’s not necessary, Famke keeps to herself the fact that she hires a cleaning lady during her mom’s day.

Family (33): “My friend Jelle turns every cent around, while we’re really not bad. But he just doesn’t like spending unnecessarily. He would also hate it if he knew that I spent thirty euros of the household money on a cleaning lady on my mother’s day. Shame!

Oh well, I really enjoy spending two hours puzzling or playing games with our child. I do earn back the cleaning money by shopping smarter and eating less meat. Still healthy too.

The fact that I joke about this is in my genes, by the way. My grandfather always turned on the vacuum cleaner while sitting next to it to read the newspaper. He gave the impression to my grandmother that he was sucking really hard upstairs.”
