‘I do the shopping on Saturdays so that I can grab a drink on a terrace’

Moving your appointments or chores to the weekend especially to have a day off during the week. These parents have their tricks to create some time for themselves.
Ann (32): “The hairdresser and nail studio are also open on Friday, of course, but I always make an appointment at the weekend. Can I enjoy Netflix on my free Friday. On Saturdays I drink my prosecco with my hair in the highlight foil while my husband runs after the kids.”
Grab a terrace
Marian (31): “I do the weekly shopping on Saturdays. On my own. Not because I enjoy it so much, but because I can add another cup of coffee on a terrace. Or a tour of the mall. I leave during my toddlers’ nap time and don’t return until they’ve had their playtime with Dad. Just my hands free and no one will notice that it is not too bad during the weekend with the supermarket crowds.”

Refresh book stock
Rowena (33): “We get the children’s books from the library once every two weeks. Very nice to do with my daughter, but once a month on Saturday I offer to go alone, while my friend stays with our daughter. Such a visit to the library can easily take two hours. Not because it’s so hard for me to choose; I’ll be done in ten minutes or so. But let there be a very nice pub in our library – it is no coincidence that my friends often refresh their book stock on exactly the same day.”
