‘I am a stay at home mother, but I still have a regular babysitter on Wednesday afternoon’

Running from place to place, being late everywhere and constantly yelling for the kids to hurry up. Daniëlle was so fed up with this whole thing that she hired a regular babysitter on Wednesday afternoons.

Danielle (36): “As a stay-at-home mom I don’t have a paid job, but I still have a regular babysitter on Wednesday afternoons: her name is Romy. Very decadent, I think so, so I keep my mouth shut with my family. But very relaxed.

Babysit

Before I had Romy I didn’t know how to do it all: swimming lessons with Lana at 2.15 pm, judo with Bram at 5 pm and then Lars also had to play football from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. I ran from one place to another, constantly yelling at the children to hurry up and getting everywhere just too late.

Now I hire my seventeen-year-old girl next door to pick up the children from school with the cargo bike and take at least one child to a sports activity. Romy and I alternate weekly in the pool, at football or judo. Advantage: my children have a relaxed mother who in the meantime also really looks at their performance.”
