Mini LEDs in the new Huawei television: China manufacturer teases presentation

Huawei has seen itself forced by the US embargo to reinvent itself, at least in part, and has quickly become a television manufacturer. The first devices came onto the market in China at the end of last year. With the new generation, the company from Shenzhen is now starting Mini LEDs for improved picture quality (Source: Huawei / Weibo via Huawei update).

On its official Weibo account, Huawei recently teased the presentation of two new TVs for July 29th. On the one hand, there is talk of the “V 75 Super”. The name suggests a model with a 75 inch screen diagonal. This is where the mini LEDs are used. According to an introduction poster A total of 46,080 Super Mini LEDs are built into the V 75 Super.

Compared to conventional LED panels, mini LEDs deliver richer black levels and strong contrasts. However, they do not yet come close to the deep black of OLED displays. Therefore mini LED devices are brighter, are better suited for rooms with a lot of light or to be set up near windows. With the use of mini LEDs, Huawei is on a par with many well-known manufacturers, including Samsung and LG. A sound module from the French manufacturer Devialet is also to be installed in the V 75 Super.

in the Video you get a first impression of Huawei’s plans for smart TVs:

Huawei wants to impress with size: Huge smart TV with 98 inches expected

With the second TV that has been announced, Huawei is focusing less on fine picture quality than on sheer size. The name “V 98” should give us one huge TV with the equivalent of just under 2.5 m (98 inches) screen diagonal. Further details are not known, but mini LEDs are not to be expected. Otherwise Huawei would have already let this information leak out. However, Huawei’s new HarmonyOS operating system will certainly be used here as well.

A international market launch for the smart TVs would certainly be desirable from Huawei’s perspective. We assume that sooner or later it will come to that. After all, with the Huawei Vision S, the first model has already been launched outside of China. However, it is not known when the two new televisions will come to that.
