Chinese company Huawei unveiled its latest Android add – on EMUI 11 already in September last year. However, the distribution of its stable version was launched only before the end of the year, and only for a few selected models. In order to reassure the owners of other models, it has published a complete update plan on its official website EMUI 11.
EMUI 11 will receive 12 smartphones and 2 Huawei tablets in Europe
The plan is divided into several tables according to individual continents or regions. The table then shows the selected smartphones, their model number, update start date and its current status in the individual columns. Slovak users will of course be interested in the plan for Europe. It is divided into Western and Northeastern Europe.
According to the table, an update with EMUI 11 for the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro + models was launched in mid-December. All Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphones in Europe and all Huawei Mate 40 Pro + smartphones have even received it. At the end of January, the distribution of EMUI 11 for the Huawei Mate Xs folding smartphone should begin.
The Huawei P30 review, P30 Pro, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS and Mate 20 X models should be expected in March. It will not be available for the middle-class Huawei nova 5T until April. Of course, Huawei also thinks about its tablets. In February, it will launch an update for the premium Huawei MatePad Pro tablet and in March for the 10.8-inch Huawei MediaPad M6.
What does the new superstructure bring?
Huawei unveiled the EMUI 11 superstructure on September 10. Although it was still built on the older Android 10 system, it brought several improvements. One of them is, for example, the improved and more beautiful Always On Display or new animations to reduce the strain on the eyes and brain. Cooperation with desktop computers will also be improved. After the new one, the user will be able to monitor up to three active smartphone screens on one computer.
Also interesting is the ability to easily delete sensitive data such as location, time and device details during data transfer. As a result, the EMUI 11 superstructure has obtained the highest level of CC EAL5 + protection, which is recognized by all world certification authorities. It also complies with GDPR and GAPP (US version of GDPR) standards. The new superstructure thus shows that it is fully focused on protecting the privacy of its users.
How is the competition?
Huawei’s competition is also being made in the updates. This week, the South Korean Samsung updated two-year-old Galaxy S10 series smartphones to Android 11 with the One UI 3.0 extension. Before the end of the year, the Taiwanese manufacturer Asus surprised with an update with Android 11 for the Asus Zenfone 6 model from 2019. OnePlus updated the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro models. They got OxygenOS 11 built on Android 11. Sony recently started updating its smartphones. This year’s Sony Xperia 1 II was the first to arrive.
