ChatGPT is great fun to have conversations with, but the chatbot can do much more. He answers all your questions or he can even help you with your school assignments. But how else can you use this smart chatbot?
You can of course just talk to the chatbot, but to come up with a specific solution you give ChatGPT a prompt. This is a short piece of text that the chatbot can use to generate its response.
Rules for a good prompt
So you use a prompt to start or direct the conversation. A good prompt should meet a few requirements. So keep these things in mind when creating a prompt.
- You must be clear about what you want to discuss or achieve with the chatbot. Do you want information, advice, entertainment, or something else?
- You have to give the chatbot enough information to give a good answer. Who are you, what are you talking about, what is your goal?
- You have to challenge the chatbot to be creative, funny, informative or educational. Avoid too much detail, contradictions, or impossible scenarios.
Coming up with ChatGPT prompts sounds more difficult than it actually is. Often you just need to know what the chatbot can do. It is then a matter of trying it out. Below we’ll show you a few fun prompts that you can use as a base.
1. Plan a trip with ChatGPT
“Come up with a 14-day tour through Japan for 2 adults. Start in Tokyo and end in Yokohama. Try to plan as many activities as possible, but no more than two a day.”

3. Create summary
ChatGPT can also give you a short synopsis about a movie, book or a web page. We asked the chatGPT the following with these prompts.
“Give me a short and clear summary about the 1997 movie Gattaca. Try to explain the plot as simply as possible. Do this in a maximum of 100 words.”
ChatGPT responded with:
“Gattaca (1997) is set in the future, where genetic engineering is the norm. Vincent, an “unchanged” man, dreams of becoming an astronaut. He assumes the identity of a genetically perfect man to gain access to Gattaca, a spaceship company.
