Honor View 40 certified outside of China, launch imminent

Honor’s first proprietary phone, which it launched after being sold by former parent company Huawei, would be launched internationally very soon. Certification body EEC is one of the international bodies where the View 40 is currently being tested, presumably the phone will also come to Europe.

Honor View 40

Honor recently launched its first standalone phone, the Honor View 40. The device is currently only available in China – however, Honor’s CEO George Zhao previously stated that the company “has plans to expand overseas.” . When the company would do and how this process would turn out remained unknown at the time. It now seems almost certain that Honor will initially unpack the high-end Honor View 40.

International launch

A document has been published via the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for the certification of – among other things – the Honor View 40. With this, Honor seems to be on its way to ‘prepare the device internationally’ for launch. A striking feature of the EEC document is that five models have been offered for certification, of which the Honor View 40, which carries international model number YOK-N49. The CHL-LX1 and NTN-LX1 are likely to be completely new phones, while Honors HJC-LX9C and NZA-LX9 are international variants of phones previously released on TENAA.

While this has not been confirmed, Honors HJC-LX9C looks like an exact copy of the Huawei Nova 8 SE; the old Huawei subsidiary would even use the same Dimensity 800U chipset that is also found in the Nova 8 SE. Honors NZA-LX9 could possibly be an international variant of the NZA-AN00 or NZA-TN00. That device may contain a 6.6-inch HD + screen, three cameras on the back and a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor. Whether this is also a copy of an existing Huawei phone remains unknown.

Google Play Services

Honor is said to be planning to launch the Honor View 40 in Europe in the second quarter. Before the launch, Honor will probably first want to make agreements with Google about the provision of Play Services on its devices. George Zhao previously announced that he is still in talks with Google about this. Given Honor is now independent from Huawei, this will probably go without problems, the CEO expected.

In terms of specifications, the View 40 moves into the upper midrange segment with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 chipset, a 6.72-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 66-watt charger that packs the internal 4,000 mAh battery. can charge very quickly. What Honor will do with the price of the View 40 in Europe is still unknown. In China, the phone is available with 128 GB and 256 GB storage memory, with the model with 128 GB memory for sale for 550 euros and the model with 256 GB memory for 615 euros (converted and excluding VAT). .

Prices in Europe will probably be higher than the Chinese prices of the View 40, although it is still unknown what the difference will be between the Chinese and international pricing.
