Honor announces super-sleek Magic 3 and Magic 3 Pro

Three new smartphones are added to Honor’s lineup. The manufacturer has announced the Honor Magic 3 and Magic 3 Pro. These stylish smartphones come with Google services and have everything you can expect from a high-end smartphone.

Honor with Magic 3 Series

The Honor Magic 3 series has been officially announced. The Chinese brand now stands on its own two feet and is no longer dependent on Huawei. This also means that the new devices are simply equipped with Google services. The Honor Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro and Magic 3 Pro+ are almost identical to each other. The Pro+ gets a ceramic housing and the differences between the two other models relate to the camera. In addition, the models can charge wirelessly with a power of 50W; the 4600 mAh battery can charge with 66W wired.

Honor provides the Magic 3 series with a 6.76-inch OLED screen with 1 billion colors. It has a resolution of 2772 x 1344 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The curved screen has a curve of 89 degrees. The Pro has a dual front camera in the screen; a 13 megapixel and a 3D Time-of-Flight sensor. With the regular model there is only the 13MP lens.

On the back, the regular Honor Magic 3 features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel monochrome lens and a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens. With the Pro we see four lenses; a 50MP main lens, 64MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and OIS, a 64MP monochrome lens and a 13MP wide-angle lens. There are stereo speakers and a Snapdragon 888 chipset. With the Pro, this is Snapdragon 888+, which is just a bit more powerful.

Honor supplies the Magic 3 series with Android 11 and Magic UI 5.0. As mentioned, there is simply support for Google Mobile Services; so apps and the like can just be removed from the Play Store. The colors in which the device appears are black and white. There is also a blue and gold vegan leather color. The price of the Honor Magic 3 starts at 899 euros, the Pro model goes home for 1099 euros. For now they have only been announced for China. It is expected that the devices will also be released outside of China, but nothing has been announced yet.
