With the number of infections falling, many employees are returning to their offices. Others stay at home – they have come to appreciate and love the home office. Suitable devices are required for these flexible office scenarios – a technology guide.

The home office is here to stay. But if in the future one part is looking for the peace and seclusion of their own four walls and another part is looking for personal and inspiring exchange in the office, then the question arises: How can creative and productive cooperation succeed under these circumstances? In the past few months, video conferences have often become the standard because, according to a Bitkom study, they are used by over two thirds of companies. But the situation can change if most of the people are no longer in the home office, but scattered around at home, in the office or in the mountain hut – keyword: workation. Appropriate technology is required so that collaborative work can work from anywhere.

The hybrid world of work can take into account the needs of each individual. And teams can work more creatively and efficiently, especially when the working environment is right. This can be a huge issue, especially in the home office: In the long run, a kitchen table in combination with a wooden chair and an 11-inch laptop is not a solution. According to a Dekra survey, one in three people already complains about health problems due to a poor, non-ergonomic workplace in their own four walls. In addition to one’s own health, the company’s balance sheet also suffers as a result. On the other hand, it is often not possible to offer an all-round package with a height-adjustable desk and balanced lighting like in modern offices in your own four walls. There is usually simply a lack of space for this.

In the new business monitor lineup from Samsung, all models have a slim, height-adjustable metal base. Together with Cisco Webex offers Samsung for the digital flipchart Flip 2 a solution for location-independent collaboration: With Webex on Flip, you can switch between online platforms, the mirrored display of the compatible smartphone, presentations and an interactive whiteboard with just a few taps. Regardless of where the team members are, they can virtually access the interface, write posts and share content. Notes can be created in different colors and styles on photos, graphics and other backgrounds. In addition, images can be edited and content from compatible PCs, laptops and smartphones can be mirrored on the display. The interactive flipchart thus offers creative scope for the location-independent exchange of know-how, joint brainstorming or fine-tuning of concepts. And after the meeting, the results are simply shared with all participants by email.

In addition to virtual platforms for creative exchange, video conferences will in all likelihood remain a common tool for working together on tasks and maintaining contact with colleagues. Team meetings and customer appointments will certainly continue to take place at least partially virtually.
