HexaTrek – The great crossing of France

The official course application, finally available. A 3,034 km trail through the most beautiful French mountain landscapes, linking 14 natural parks and crossing France from the Vosges to the Pyrenees. The HexaTrek has been designed to connect the most beautiful French trails and maximize the places where camping is allowed.



Along the mountain ridges, crossing the most beautiful valleys and stopping in the most picturesque villages, the HexaTrek is a journey to meet yourself, nature and its inhabitants.

– 2,000 points of interest in your pocket.
– Works completely offline. Each stage of the route is downloadable offline and will give you your location even in airplane mode. the app uses your mobile device’s internal GPS to display your location and guide you along the trail. Follow the precise route and find all the points of interest useful for your hike.
– Identify bivouac areas. Know where you will spend the night. The application will tell you if the place where you are is authorized to bivouac or if there are specific restrictions (private land, protected area, Natura 2000…).
– Discover the unmissable places. Do not miss any points of interest on the way, you will find all the unmissable places classified in 4 categories (The unmissable points: the most beautiful landscapes, waterfalls and other natural wonders. Viewpoints: all the passes and belvederes offering you the best view on the surroundings. Monuments: places classified as UNESCO heritage or part of the country’s history. Village de France: a selection of the most emblematic villages crossed by the route).
– Find your refuge. Visualize at a glance the different types of accommodation present on the HexaTrek. Refuges/unguarded shelters are free, open to all and available all year round. The guarded refuges, cottages and campsites are chargeable, generally open during the summer season and will offer you a comfortable night with catering service.
– Ensure your roaming. Easily find the list of all the water points (springs, fountains, drinking water) and supply points (supermarket, grocery store, local producers.) Know the delicate passages, the alternative routes and the directions to follow.
