Hermit is a special browser that converts websites into apps

With the Hermit browser you can create light ‘Lite apps’ based on websites. These are web-based apps that are only 3MB in size. Furthermore, this browser comes with even more powerful functions.

There are so many browsers in the Play Store, but not all of them are worth testing. Interesting are the apps that come with unique functions, and Hermit really is such a browser. What is special is that you can use so-called Lite apps with Hermit, not to be confused with the existing Lite versions of apps that you can find in the Play Store. Lite apps are more like web versions of services, but on steroids.

Hermit’s Lite apps are completely web-based, and you can sooner convert any website into a Lite app by entering the url and adding it to the home screen. Hermit also has a search engine with which you can search for Lite apps per category.

Advantages of Lite apps

The advantage of Lite apps is that they only take up 3 MB of your storage and are more economical with your battery than regular apps. Hermit also has numerous settings with which you can adjust the appearance and behavior for each app. For example, you can: choose an icon, set a dark theme, adjust the permissions or add an RSS feed to receive notifications.

Lite apps are very suitable for older phones or smartphones with less powerful performance. They also use less RAM, so apps are less likely to break down in the background. In addition, they can be a good alternative for services that do not yet have an app or a malfunctioning app. Keep in mind that the functionality of a Lite app is largely dependent on the quality of the web version of the service.
