Google presents Nest WiFi Pro and new wired Nest doorbell
Google has presented two new products. First of all, there’s the new Nest WiFi Pro routes and we see a new, wired Nest doorbell. We list the details.
Nest WiFi Pro
Google has announced a new (mesh) router, and it is also coming to the Netherlands. It is the Google Nest WiFi Pro, which is equipped with WiFi 6E (in addition to 2.4GHz and 5GHz). Thanks to the scalable system, a fast, strong and smooth connection must be provided. The new router offers a coverage of up to 120 m2. In the future, the device can handle Matter, a standard in smarthomes that can address connection problems and ensure that devices in the network work better together. Furthermore, you can already connect devices with Thread, reports Google.
Google’s new Nest WiFi Pro is capable of delivering a maximum combined speed of 4.2 Gbps. A maximum of 200 devices can be connected per network, there is 1GB RAM and 4GB flash memory. Also present are two Ethernet ports that offer a speed of 1Gbps. The Pro will not replace the current Nest WiFi, but they will continue to coexist. The new Nest WiFi Pro will be available in the Netherlands from October 27 and will cost 219.99 euros.
Google Nest doorbell
A new wired Nest doorbell has also been announced. Until now, the product could only be used wirelessly. The new product is a successor to the Nest Hello from 2018. The housing consists of 43 percent recycled material, with the black camera sensor at the top, while the large call button with LED ring at the bottom stands out. According to Google, the Nest Doorbell (wired) is able to image people from head to toe, both during the day and at night.
Thanks to intelligent notifications you know who is at your door. Furthermore, it can also show familiar faces and you get three hours of notifications. With a Nest Aware subscription you can look back up to ten days. The new Google Nest wired doorbell comes in Snow, Linen, Ash and Ivy colors and comes to the US and Canada for $179.99. For now, nothing is known about a coming to Europe.
