Google Play Store gets smarter and optimizes app installs: this is how it works

Google will notify users of a change to the Google Play Store. The service is getting smarter and optimizing app installations. The feature was previously announced, now it is actually being rolled out.

Google Play Store with App Optimization

If you open the Google Play Store app, it may just be that you are alerted to a change that Google is making. Google announced app optimization in March, and as of now, this feature is officially made available by the company. But what exactly does it do?

As stated in the explanation, Google Play with app optimization ensures that apps can be installed faster. Also, opening and running apps is accelerated, based on what is most used by users. When the app is opened for the first time after installation, Google looks at which parts of an app are used the most. Based on this, an app can be installed faster. This is possible because installation files consist, as it were, of different parts. This way you don’t have to wait for an app to be completely installed. In addition, it should contribute to the activity of the processor and the working memory, which can be reduced in this way.

Google will collect all this data together. The company indicates that privacy has been considered. Personal data such as your name, e-mail address and other private data will not be collected to perform this functionality. If you do not want to use this, you can choose to disable this setting in the settings in the Google Play Store.

The functionality is being rolled out in phases, so it may take a while until everyone can use the feature.
