Google Pixel 6: the Tensor chip would have performance close to the Galaxy S21

The in-house Tensor processor should equip the next Google Pixel 6. If few details have been given on this chip, some insistent rumors evoke the performance of this processor.

Rumors around future Google smartphones were multiplied at the beginning of this year. The American manufacturer aims to review its product line more focused on the software part. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be entitled to a house processor to take care of the animation. Originally, this was known under the code name ” Whitechapel“, Is now called Tensor. Rumors about the internal power of it would bring the phone closer to the Galaxy S21.

The Google Pixel 6 will be less powerful than the Galaxy S22

A few days earlier, Google published a series of messages around its future smartphones. The technical sheets of the devices have not been revealed, but the manufacturer confirms some rumors about its next products. The processor will be well built in house and will bear the name “Tensor”. First of all, the objective of this chip is to make the phone as secure as possible. It will also bring immense added value in the software processing of photos. The great strength of previous smartphones will therefore be highlighted on the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.

The series of messages did not give more indication of the performance of the Tensor chip. The Galaxy Club site mentions that it would simply be a reworked Exynos 9855 chip. Indeed, the two processors have a common code name ” Whitechapel“. This means that Tensor and the Google Pixel 6 will have a high quality performance, slightly better than what is offered on the Samsung Galaxy S21. Engineers at the Korean company therefore seem to be deeply involved in the production process of Google’s upcoming phones. We will have to wait until the fall to find out more.
