Google Pixel 5 visits JerryRigEverything: The Endurance Test

The Pixel 5 is Google’s latest smartphone from the somewhat higher segment. Zack from JerryRigEverything has been working on this device and has put it through a durability test. How is it with that?

Pixel 5 durability test

The Google Pixel 5 is not officially available for sale here. For this you have to use, for example, the German retail chains; the smartphone is sold in Germany. JerryRigEverything has obtained a copy to submit it to a durability test. Google promotes the device as being made of metal, but is that really the case?

The video shows that the device in the hand does not feel like it is made of metal, apart from the power button. The housing consists of several layers of plastic that ‘hide’ the metal. Google is talking here about a ‘bio-resin’ housing, which is probably a fancy name for the composition that Google has chosen. Furthermore, other aspects can also be seen, such as the robustness of the screen, the device and the bending test.
