The planned takeover of ARM by Nvidia is currently being examined internationally by antitrust authorities. Several US tech companies have now lodged complaints.
The criticism of Nvidia’s planned takeover of the British chip designer ARM has significant supporters. Google, Microsoft and Qualcomm, among others, fear that the deal would jeopardize competition in their industry. That has Bloomberg Learned from internal sources.

The companies have complained to the US antitrust authorities. The is currently checking the takeover. In addition to the USA, the competition watchdogs in the European Union, China and Great Britain must also agree.
The previous owner Softbank and Nvidia had announced the deal worth around 40 billion dollars in September.

Huawei and other Chinese companies had already filed a complaint with the Chinese antitrust authorities because they feared being cut off from ARM technology.
One of the co-founders of ARM described the takeover as a “disaster for Cambridge, Great Britain and Europe”.
The antitrust authorities in the US, EU and China still have several months to decide on the deal.
