Google Calendar app changes display of short appointments

Google is rolling out a server-side update for the Google Calendar app. The application now shows shorter appointments in a different way in the application. This should clarify the overview.

New view in Google Calendar app

The Google Calendar app gets a small change in the display of shorter appointments. This is made clear by means of a notification that we have now received on the DroidApp editorial staff. When you open the Google Calendar app on your Android device, you will see the following text; “Appointments shorter than 30 minutes are now displayed smaller”. You can view the appointment details by pinching to zoom.

It seems that Google wants to clarify the display of shorter appointments in this way. You can see the difference in the different display periods. Optionally, you can adjust these new display settings by going to Settings> General. There you will find the option ‘Display shorter appointments the same size as appointments of 30 minutes’.

The functionality now seems to be rolled out to everyone. Since it is a server-side update, you do not need to download an update from the Google Play Store.
