How much does a height-adjustable desk top cost?
If you can’t afford a desk for 400 to 700 euros, you don’t have to be left with the harmful consequences of your working position. After all, part of the costs can be recovered through taxes. In addition, fixed desk attachments for working cost from 55 euros. Height-adjustable desk tops are available from 85 euros. We show you models of both variants in comparison.
The height-adjustable desk attachment from Flexispot is available in two different sizes. With a price of 139.99, the extensions with the model number M8 and M8B are not a bargain, but are well below the prices for the cheapest height-adjustable desk. The attachment has a keyboard tray and enough space for a laptop and an additional screen. There is even space for two screens on the larger of the two variants. The maximum load is 15 kilograms and the height-adjustable range is between 14 and 50 centimetres.

Varidesk doesn’t make height-adjustable desks, but they do smart attachments*that transform any desk into a flexible standing workstation. There are different models for one or two monitors or just for the laptop, which are also practical if you want to work while sitting. Depending on the version, the prices range between 325 and 450 euros.
If you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to a height-adjustable desk and want to do something for the environment at the same time, you should take a closer look at the “Monkey Desk” desk attachment from Room in a Box. For almost 60 euros there is a monitor and a keyboard desk, both designed for desks with a height of 75 centimeters. Although this is less flexible and comfortable than a completely freely adjustable desk, it saves space and money. Also positive: According to the manufacturer, the desk top consists of 70 percent recycled material (heavy-duty cardboard). Of course, unlike the other models, the cardboard model cannot be infinitely adjusted, but there are several sizes:

From Fitueyes there at Amazon for 99.99 euros* a comparatively inexpensive model that has the usual functions and can be adjusted in height using a lever. There is also an additional smartphone tray. However, this variant only has dimensions of 64 by 40 centimeters.
If you prefer a larger desk attachment, you have to pay around 120 euros for one of the larger models. Thanks to two levels, Fitueyes also has space for an external keyboard, a laptop and, in the larger versions, for an additional screen.
The manufacturer “mounting professional” offers, for example for almost 120 euros at Amazon* offers a height-adjustable, two-level desk top with space for a desktop, mouse and PC (and a good rating). As an alternative to this 90 centimeter variant, the manufacturer also offers an 80 centimeter attachment, which is available for just under 120 euros.
Another cheap option comes from Stehaufmaennchen.eu: There is one there mobile standing desk for the desk for around 45 euros. Also interesting but a bit more expensive is the Standsome Slim model for 159 euros. This height-adjustable desk attachment takes up very little space and therefore also fits on other pieces of furniture, such as chests of drawers. The plug-in principle does not have the convenience of a continuously adjustable desk, but it also ensures flexibility. If you like it a little more unusual, you will also find a whole standing desk with this provider. It looks nice, but it’s also cheap 320 euros. In terms of price, this is already close to desk level.

Switch between sitting and standing at least three times per hour recommends the Techniker Krankenkasse, for example. If you want to use a desk attachment, you have to select it according to your workplace. Important questions are: How big is my desk? Do I need space for an external monitor, mouse and keyboard?
With a fixed model, the height of the desk and the attachment must match the body size. The height-adjustable desk attachments offer a scope that should be enough for many people to integrate the health-promoting standing phases into their everyday work.
