generate your own energy
More and more people are generating their own energy with, for example, a solar panel. But there are more possibilities, a generator for example.
Due to the high energy prices, we discover that energy is quite important. At the moment we get our paid energy into our home in two ways: via electricity and via gas. Both energy sources have now become a lot more expensive. That is why the interest in generating your own energy is growing. In this article we will talk about ways to generate electricity yourself. The generator plays the leading role in this. In simple terms, this is a device that converts a rotating movement into electricity.

Sun, for electricity and heat
The best known way to generate your own energy is of course solar energy. Solar panels can be found on more and more roofs and the interest in solar boilers, which use direct sunlight to heat water, is also growing. Solar panels do not rotate, they generate electricity from sunlight.
Wind turbines
But there are also other ways to generate your own energy. Consider, for example, small wind turbines. In addition to the well-known wind turbines on a pole, you also have vertical wind turbines that tap the airflow that blows along the roof. If you live on the coast or in another windy area, a small wind generator can provide a nice addition, especially in winter, when the wind is blowing more.
toWind turbines often give many short peaks of power and therefore cannot be installed on a solar panel. There are some good and many bad models. So do good research.
Generate energy with stairs
Another source of energy is you yourself, so muscle power. An hour of hard pedaling on a converted exercise bike, or a pedal generator, quickly yields 0.2 kWh or more. Not very much of course, but the big advantage is that while generating energy you also train your condition at the same time. And that this energy source is always available.
diesel generator
An expensive and environmentally polluting way to generate your own energy is with a petrol or diesel generator. Because this costs a lot of fuel and that is of course expensive. Certainly converted to kilowatt hours, because you can only generate up to 2 kWh per liter of fuel. Also, petrol and diesel generators are quite noisy. You do have direct power and also a lot of power, up to 4 kilowatts or more.
Thermoelectric Generator
No moving parts here either. This type of electricity generator works by tapping a heat difference inside and outside a stove. A handy device when you are camping is the Biolite. You can light a fire in this and charge your phone. You can also use a larger model of thermoelectric generator in your wood-burning stove. This produces about 100 watts. So if you use a lot of heating during the day, around 1.5 kWh per day. These are very expensive, namely around € 1500.
Zero point energy generator
Sometimes you see them passing by sites with a high aluminum hat content. The zero point energy generator that takes energy out of thin air. Unfortunately, the first law of thermodynamics is inexorable. Energy doesn’t come out of nowhere. There has never been an exception to this. So don’t fall for it, you will probably be scammed. But luckily there are plenty of other good ways to generate energy. In the meantime, read our article about saving energy.
