Galaxy S21 Ultra users complain about battery drain when in pocket

In recent times, more and more complaints have been received from users of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The smartphone is said to have problems with a draining battery for a large group of users.

Battery drains on Galaxy S21 Ultra

Samsung has released a nice series of smartphones with the Galaxy S21 series. However, the manufacturer is now less positive in the news, with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The problem arises among a large group of users that the smartphone of the Korean manufacturer consumes a lot of power in standby. Oddly enough, the battery stats screen doesn’t report anything out of the ordinary, users report.

According to the information, the phone does not consume more battery when it is flat on the table, but the battery consumption increases significantly when it is in a pocket, for example. The culprit seems to be the camera app, which is activated when motion is detected. For one user, the battery consumed 21 percent of power in 7 hours, while there was only 15 minutes of screen-on-time. According to the reporter, the error could be detected with alternative battery consumer apps; such as GSam Battery Monitor.

Unfortunately, there is no official solution for the time being and Samsung has not yet responded to the messages. As far as is known, the problem only affects the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the S21 and S21+ are not considered.
