Galaxy S21 Ultra doesn’t sell as well as Samsung hoped

With its Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung wanted to stand up to Apple and its iPhone 12. In view of the less good than expected sales, the manufacturer could review its plans and bring back the Galaxy Note.

The year 2021 was to coincide with the revival of Samsung. After a previous year polluted by the Covid-19 crisis, the Korean firm wanted to breathe new life into its premium smartphones. However, it seems that sales of the Galaxy S21 Ultra are not as good as those of the iPhone 12. So much so that the manufacturer is considering a return of the Note range in the future.

Galaxy S21 Ultra sales are good but not enough

One of the main rumors surrounding Samsung’s premium devices was the demise of the Note line. The manufacturer has long remained elusive around the future of this prestigious range. But the presence of S-Pen compatibility on the Galaxy S21 Ultra should confirm this trend. However, according to Tron, a specialized informant, it seems that Samsung is backtracking. The manufacturer is considering a return of the range soon. One of the reasons for this back-pedaling would be the sales of its latest high-end devices. While these are good, they are not as high as the brand hoped.

However, given the figures announced in some countries around the world, the S21 seems to be popular. Ultra version sells very well in South Korea as well as the UK. The only problem with these figures is that they do not cover all of the facts on a global scale. Indeed, according to Counterpoint figures, the first quarter of 2021 was dominated by Apple smartphones. Whether in terms of volumes or in terms of profits generated, the iPhone 12 were in the first three places in the ranking. It is likely that the Galaxy Note will make a comeback next year. This summer, Samsung folding smartphones are expected to take center stage.
