First render OnePlus 9 shows a familiar design

A first render of the OnePlus 9 has appeared. The front of the device looks like two drops of water on the OnePlus 8T. The back shows more differences.

Render OnePlus 9 is very similar to the OnePlus 8T

The OnePlus 8T has only been in stores for a month, but a first render of its successor has already appeared. It’s usually reliable 91Mobiles has put digital sketches of the OnePlus 9 online.

The new device is very similar to the OnePlus 8T. The screen fills almost the entire front. Only in the top left corner is a small hole for the selfie camera. The back shows slightly more differences. We find one small camera and two much larger ones. All lenses on the OnePlus 8T are the same size.

What can we deduce from that? Maybe OnePlus will put better cameras in its latest smartphone. The manufacturer has been behind the competition in this area for years.

Little is known about the specifications of the OnePlus 9. 91Mobiles does claim that the smartphone will have a larger display than the OnePlus 8T, which has an OLED panel of 6.55 inches. It would again be a 120Hz screen. That refreshes your content 120 times per second, which makes scrolling through social media look very fluid, for example.

OnePlus often puts the fastest processor of the moment in its premium smartphones. It is therefore obvious that the OnePlus 9 runs on the still unannounced Snapdragon 875 chip.

When is the OnePlus 9 for sale?

Typically, OnePlus will release its smartphones in May. The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro were a month earlier this year. Now there are rumors that the manufacturer will even announce the OnePlus 9 in March 2021.

The reason for this is probably that Samsung would like to present the Galaxy S21 series on January 14. OnePlus can lose customers if the OnePlus 9 then takes another three or four months.
