First game with Stadia Direct Touch is coming: the outcome?

There will be a game for Stadia called Humankind and it will be the first game with Direct Touch control. Then your smartphone is the controller for the game. The advantage of this is that the game becomes a kind of control panel that can change with the game. This way you can just play the game, but you have a more interactive layout in, for example, menus.

Does it also work? Direct Touch for Stadia sounds a bit like the well-known dilemma that you also have in cars, for example: buttons can be operated much better by touch and in fact nothing compares to the direct response of a button. But buttons are always the same: Direct Touch can change things in such a way that the layout is always intuitive.
But pressing buttons on a touchscreen is more sensitive to delay or just not touching the right thing, especially delay you can’t have too much of in cloud-based games. Whether it will work is another matter.
