Fireteam Elite promise a horde and no microtransactions -apkrig

It’s such an interesting and funny coincidence that at a time when fans are finally waiting for the dream spiritual successor Left 4 Dead in the form of Back 4 Blood from Turtle Rock Studios, another similar game is heading to the market. While we will not kill zombies until October, if we do not count the current beta, we will start invading the intruders at the end of August. Aliens: Fireteam Elite from Cold Iron Studios hasn’t convinced us much yet, but – hell – they’re still intruders. The first in a long time.

So we looked at the latest news about this 3rd person shooter. For starters, just the basics. We will play with people or partners controlled by artificial intelligence. The title was mainly inspired by the second part, but is set 23 years after the original trilogy. The game offers four story campaigns after three missions and five characters to choose from. They are Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc and Recon. Or Sagittarius, Destroyer, Technician, Doctor and Explorer, if you will, as its official Czech translation sounds.

Cards as in Back 4 Blood

Of course, everyone has their own role and specialization. But you will always jump directly into the action only in triples. So you need to put together a team of suitable experts that can be combined well. Unfortunately, Fireteam Elite does not offer local cooperation or full cross-patform multiplayer. Just cross-gen across consoles from the same family. This could be a problem if the game struggled with a lack of fans.

You will encounter various enemies (20 in total), various types of invaders (11 xenomorphs) and it is interesting that Aliens: Fireteam Elite will offer a similar card from Back 4 Blood, which will change some elements of already known missions. In recent days, we have also learned that with the Day 1 update, in addition to the usual improvements, the Horde mode will also come into play. It will be unlocked after completing the mentioned campaign.

In addition, the authors promised to add more content to the game via DLC, but swear to avoid any microtransactions. Of course, we hear about it, now we still keep this promise. Also, just a few days ago, a fresh video with a preview of the soundtrack was added to YouTube. And it’s not bad at all, it seems.

The impressions of those who have already had the opportunity to try new invaders are very contradictory. It doesn’t look like a clear hit, but we would still like the developers to pleasantly surprise us. You can find more details about the game in our older articles. Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be released on August 24 and will have Czech subtitles. On Steam, the basic version sells for 40 euros.
