Facebook Messenger adds a tab for calls
Messenger gains a new tab in its iOS and Android application, which is called “Calls”. Meta, Facebook’s parent company, says this tab will keep track of every call you make or receive in the app in one place. It will also make it easier to connect calls with a single touch.
A “Calls” tab arrives on Messenger
For people who do not use this feature regularly, the tab allows you to recall the existence of calls in Messenger, both audio and video. As a reminder, the support for audio calls was born in 2013 and that of video calls took place in 2015.
According to Meta, audio and video calls increased by 40% compared to the beginning of 2020, with 300 million calls made every day. Certainly the Covid-19 pandemic has pushed communications from a distance, knowing that the confinements were in place.
There are many applications that allow you to call a contact, beyond the basic function of the telephone. Meta seeks here to further increase the use with Messenger, hence the appearance of a dedicated tab.
As often with Meta, this is a rolling feature. Some will therefore have it within the next few days, others will have it over the next few weeks. There is no way to force the application to show the new tab, it will appear automatically.
