‘iPhone 13 camera gets improved image stabilization’
All iPhones that appear in 2021 will be equipped with improved image stability for the camera with sensor shift. This development promises to deliver sharper photos, because the sensor counteracts movement of the camera.
It is not the first time that this rumor has appeared in the media. In January . reported DigiTimes all that every iPhone 13 camera is equipped with sensor-shift image stabilization. Based on new information, the same website again draws attention to this rumor.
The Taiwanese newspaper reports that in the second half of 2021 more Voice Coil Motors (VCM) will be made for iPhones than for Android devices. This item is usually used for focusing the camera and is therefore associated with sensor shift image stabilization. The growing demand for VCM is, according to DigiTimes, a confirmation that Apple will expand the number of devices with image stabilization.
At the moment, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the only device from Apple equipped with sensor-shift stabilization. The other devices from the iPhone 12 series had to make do with a less interesting camera setup.
iPhone 13 camera: more development this year
In addition to the broader implementation of image stabilization, the entire iPhone 13 camera is also provided with other improvements. In particular, the iPhone 13 Pro is going strong compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 12 Pro.
Renders of the iPhone 13 Pro, for example, show that the device will have a somewhat thicker and above all much larger camera island. These larger lenses may mean that Apple is doing a lot of work on the cameras.
