“Apple’s design team brings together expert creatives from around the world and many disciplines to imagine products that are unmistakably Apple”a spokesperson told Bloomberg. “The design team has strong leaders with decades of experience. Evans plans to stay on during the transition and we would like to thank her for her leadership and contributions.” She will stay with Apple for another six months.
For his part, Alan Dye – who was also promoted in 2019 after the departure of Jony Ive – remains at Apple. He wants to be the main designer for all the software part, where Evans Hankey mainly deals with the design of different products, such as the iPhone, Mac or iPad.
What is the reason for the departure of Evans Hankey? Neither Apple nor the principal concerned communicate this information. It is also not specified what the official will do after Apple. Was she poached by a competitor?
