Erotic horror Lust from Beyond gets a new version -apkrig
Developers from the Polish studio Movie Games Lunarium are preparing a special version of their erotic horror film Lust from Beyond. And how will the M Edition differ from the original story of the antique dealer Victor Holloway, who haunts him with the disturbing and at the same time exciting vice of the world of Lusst’gha and becomes entangled with the cult of ecstasy? This version of the game, which was inspired by Lovecraft, Giger or Beksinsky, will be the same, but the story is adapted to suit the players who are interested in the theme, story and atmosphere, but want less explicit content.
In other words, it is a more accessible version that has removed the genitals and other shocking content. Even so, of course, you will encounter violence, blood, slight nudity and erotic motives. The developers themselves emphasize that this is not a completely new game, as it will offer the same story and gameplay. Although the authors used to say that erotica simply belongs to their games, now they want to give their project to other players. Adult games with an AO rating are not available at all in some markets, such as Germany or China. Steam also hides them, unless you explicitly display titles with this rating, the team warns.
Some scenes were arranged differently by the developers to keep their meaning, but there wasn’t much to see. For example, sexual orgies become an “innocent” ritual meeting of the cult.
The authors emphasize that at its core it is a classic Lovecraft horror film with other motives besides sex. According to them, the explicit parts are just the icing on the cake. Even without these extreme elements, it is said that their survival horror can stand on its own, so the developers decided to treat it to customers who are looking for a finer experience. Even so, the result is obviously worth it.
There will be a number of differences. As mentioned, there will be less nudity and explicit sexual content. For example, a piece of fabric will chastely cover intimate places, similar to the censored console version of Lust for Darkness. The authors still say that it will correspond to the mood of the cult. Some scenes were arranged differently by the developers to keep their meaning, but there wasn’t much to see. Specifically, for example, sexual orgies become an “innocent” ritual meeting of the cult. Some animations and models will also be changed so that everything matches the Mature rating instead of Adult Only. This again corresponds to the older console version of the first part. And logically, this offers the possibility that even Lust from Beyond could look at the console in this modified edition.
According to the authors, M in the subtitle does not only refer to the Mature rating, but originally wanted to call this version Masked Edition, because they covered its parts. The subtitle was also supposed to refer to Amanda’s mask, which is one of the hallmarks of the game. In the end, they shortened everything to just M, which represents the terms Mask, Mystery and Mature.
Both versions of the game should be basically the same, but present themselves a little differently. The authors still advise fans on how to choose the right edition, but you can certainly answer that yourself. Everyone surely knows which is “right” for them. Lust from Beyond: M Edition has not set a release date yet.
Lust in virtual reality
But that’s not the end of the Lust series. While you still have to wait for the M Edition if you are interested, Lust for Darkness VR is already out. In the uncensored version also M Edition. VR version from the studio Iron VR was released on October 26 and costs 17 euros. VR: M Edition arrived on Steam on November 18th and costs the same. This will again allow players in Germany, where, according to the authors, there was a great demand for the VR version of the erotic horror film from 2018.
