Embracer is interested in more than 150 other companies -apkrig

The Embracer Group, whose portfolio includes THQ Nordic, Saber Interactive, Koch Media / Deep Silver and Gearbox, boasted in the latest financial report for the past quarter that it is negotiating an acquisition with more than 150 entities. Among them are large companies that could create their own new group within Embracer. And negotiations with more than twenty companies are already at an advanced stage.

It is not without interest that such a clearly obvious European giant has not exhausted its finances and still has an appetite. In November, he announced that he was negotiating with more than a hundred teams and publishers, and since then he has bought, for example, the Gearbox Software and Aspyr Media studios. As long as there are probably some suitable companies on the playing field, Embracer will go after them. After all, he doesn’t have a deep pocket. In March, the company said it had raised more than $ 890 million in further acquisitions.

While we were recently surprised that the whole Embracer is working on 103 games, now it has 160 in production.

So how big is this company? The financial results also show that the entire Embracer group currently has 68 internal studies, in which more than 7,000 people work in more than 40 countries. The growing number of actively developed projects is also remarkable. That grew by an incredible 55 percent. While recently we were surprised that the whole Embracer is working on 103 games, now it has 160 in production. This is, of course, their record.

More than two-thirds of these games are new brands or titles on brands that Embracer “plans to revitalize”. According to the company, such IPs have not received any new content for at least five years. You may not be surprised that Embracer recently became the most valuable European gaming company, overtaking the French giant Ubisoft. Its portfolio also includes Czech and Slovak studios: Warhorse Studios, Ashborne Games and Nine Rocks Games.

Focus Home Interactive is also going to invest more not only in specific projects, but also in acquisitions. The company boasted that it received 70 million euros for this purpose.

In the shadow of this hegemon, another otherwise very successful and active European company – the French Focus Home Interactive – is “crouching” a bit today. For many years, he relied on long-term partnerships with companies such as Saber Interactive, Frogwares, Spiders, Asobo Studio, Giants Software, Cyanide Studio and others, rather than on his own first party teams. But that worked out a bit for him, because many of them already belong to other entities today. Once independent teams ended up under the wings of rivals such as Embracer or Nacon.

Focus Home Interactive has obviously realized this and is now also planning to invest more not only in specific projects, but also in acquisitions. The company boasted that it received 70 million euros for this purpose. It can thus continue the expansion that has already begun. Focus Home Interactive bought the Deck13 and Streum On Studio teams in a short time. The first, the authors of Lords of the Fallen or The Surge, was won last June. In February, he established a new branch for them in Montreal. Streum On Studio, developed by Space Hulk: Deathwing and Necromunda: Hired Gun, was acquired by Focus in April this year.
