Elon Musk announces big news for Tesla drivers

By means of a major software update, Tesla drivers can outsource even more tasks.

The American car manufacturer Tesla was one of the first car brands to give customers quite a few options in the field of autonomous driving. Conventional automakers are a bit more careful about this.

With Autopilot, Tesla has an advanced system in house. With the Full Self-Driving mode, Tesla goes one step further. And in that area, Tesla has big news to report. For example, Elon Musk announces that a major update is planned for the Full Self-Driving beta program. Version 8.2 of the beta is said to be twice as big, while version 8.3 will be maybe ten times as big.

Tesla software update

Elon Musk shares this information with the world on Twitter. Despite the name, you should still keep your hands on the wheel when testing this feature. A car manufacturer such as Tesla also has to deal with the law and will have to comply with it. By rolling out the beta to Tesla drivers, the car brand receives data from real-world conditions. That yields much more than a simulation on a test track. Playing guinea pig for Tesla is your own responsibility, because the beta will have to be downloaded by the owner or owner herself.
