Electric car manufacturer cuts prices in Germany

As is well known, competition stimulates business: This is what it currently looks like on the German e-car market. The long-standing top dog Tesla obviously senses that other manufacturers are on his mind, because now the prices for one of the electric cars from America are falling.

Tesla is lowering prices: Model 3 is up to 3,500 euros cheaper

Electromobility is the current automotive issue: local manufacturers such as VW and BMW have long since jumped on the bandwagon with their own models, which Tesla, in particular, as a pioneer of successful e-motorization, really got rolling. Several Chinese producers have long since outgrown their infancy and even Apple is planning to get involved in the near future. No wonder that the top dog from the USA is looking for ways to maintain its position with this dynamic.

Sang and soundless – but above all without much advance notice – Tesla has now reduced the list prices for the three versions of the Model 3 in Germany, and not that close. According to the industry service Electrive Tesla is asking for 39,990 euros for the Standard Range Plus entry-level model, instead of 42,900 euros as before. The performance variant drops from 58,490 euros to the current 54,990 euros, making the biggest price jump down with a saving of 3,500 euros. The long-range version of the Model 3 was available for 52,400 euros, now it’s 49,900 euros. The price reduction is also reflected in the leasing rates. Even more discounts are possible with federal funding; the manufacturer’s share is already included in the list price.

Those who want the latest from Tesla can look forward to the Model Y:

Electric cars: falling prices due to strong competition

The e-car rental company Nextmove has left out about Tesla’s reasons: Accordingly, it is a step not to let the German competition take even more butter off your bread. This is based on an analysis according to which Tesla’s share of the e-car market in Germany has decreased by 8 percent from 2019 to 2020. In contrast, VW was able to almost double its share.

Tesla fans and those who want to become one now have a good chance to get started thanks to the price reduction. It is unclear whether the competitive pressure will lead to further reductions in the future – but it is conceivable.
