Elden Ring: Solve Boc Quest (Walkthrough/German)

In Elden Ring you can encounter a talking bush early on, which turns out to be NPC “Boc the Closer”. Boc has an extensive quest line where you can unlock him as your tailor and meet him in different places in the game world. In this guide we will take you through all the steps of the Boc Quest.

Find the talking bush

At the start of the game, Boc disguises himself as a talking tree/bush. Just north of Lake Agheel in Limgrave you can hear the voice of Boc. Head here to the brownish bush near the telescope icon on the map. We have marked the talking bush for you below.

The bush is Boc. Strike the bush once with your weapon to reveal Boc in his true form. Exhaust all dialogues with the demi-human so that he gives you a mushroom as a reward.

Give Boc the sewing needle

Boc next heads to the Place of Mercy at the beginning of the optional dungeon “Coastal Cave” in the south-west of Limgrave.

Fight your way through the Coastal Cave and defeat the final boss Demihuman Ruler to loot the Tailoring tools and the sewing needle to obtain. You can then give this to Boc so that he can move on to the next location.

Unlock Boc as a Tailor

Boc will now appear in four different Places of Grace in Liurnia and on the Altus Plateau. You have to rest at each of these locations once for it to spawn. The rest points are as follows:

• sea ​​cliffs (In the south of Liurnia just after Castle Stormveil)
• East Gate of Raya Lucaria (At the southernmost point of the Strait of Bellum)
• Intersection of the Altus High Road (At the fork in the road after Dectus’ elevator)
• Eastern Capital Wall (The first place of grace within Leyndell)

Speak to Boc at these locations and select them Customize Clothing dialog option, so that he changes the appearance of your armor. However, this only works with certain armor. You can also customize your clothing items at any Place of Grace without Boc’s help. The advantage of Boc, however, is that he doesn’t charge you for any runes.

Find golden sewing needle

If you also want to adjust the appearance of boss armor (sold by Enia in the Round Table Fortress), you need it Golden Tailoring Tools and the Golden Sewing Needle. This can be found in the chest to the right of the statue of absolution in the Church of Vows in central Liurnia.

Give Boc the golden sewing needle so that he can customize boss armor for you from now on. Only after you have given him the gold needle can you complete Boc’s quest in the next step.

Complete Quest (Good & Bad Ending)

In further talks, Boc will now complain about his ugly appearance and express the wish to be reborn through Rennala. You now have three options on how to complete the quest. If you do nothing and complete the game’s story, Boc will be found in front of Raya Lucaria’s library and his quest will end here.

But you can also do the mission end in a bad or good way. We describe both ends below.

Bad Ending (Give Larva Tear)

If you want to fulfill Boc’s wish for rebirth, you can give him a Larva Tear. Then next time you can do it in human form just past Rennala meet again in Raya Lucaria’s library. However, he is not responsive here and after reloading the area he dies on the spot.

happy ending (you are beautiful)

For the good end you must first Find speechhead “You are beautiful”. This is on the side of one of the houses in the hermit village of Gelmir. In the picture below we have marked the exact location for you.

Equip the Talking Head and use it while standing in front of Boc. Then talk to Boc and select the “I Heard a Voice” dialogue option. You don’t get any special rewards, but you make Boc happy and he’s still available to you as a sewer. He then remains at the Eastern Capital Wall location of mercy in Leyndell for the remainder of the game.
