EA makes its app that will replace Origin available on PC

Electronic Arts announces that its new launcher, EA app, is now available for download for Windows PCs. The software will eventually replace Origin.

Here is what Electronic Arts says:

EA app is our fastest and easiest to use PC client yet. Thanks to its new sleek design, you will easily find the games and content that interest you and discover your new favorite games. Automatic game downloads and background updates ensure your games are always available.

For people playing through Origin, Electronic Arts says it is making the transfer as easy as possible. Players will soon receive a transfer request, and by the time they receive it, all of their games and content, including games already installed, will be ready and waiting for them on the EA app. Local and cloud saves will be transferred upstream, allowing games to be resumed in the same place. The friends list will also be transferred.

The EA app is available now for download from this page. Note that Origin is not yet buried knowing that Mac players must always use it. Moreover, Electronic Arts does not say when Mac players will have the right to the same client as on PC.
