The “lateral thinking” initiative has its origins in Stuttgart, 711 stands for the telephone code for the capital of Baden-Württemberg. Your supporters have been taking to the streets against the state’s corona measures for months. “Lateral Thinking 711” is resisting the deletion of the videos and is working on a YouTube alternative

“Lateral Thinking 711” is now intensifying activities to create a European, decentralized alternative to YouTube, announced Ballweg. You rely on Peertube. This is software that you can use to operate platforms for publishing videos and streams yourself. The project advertises to be decentralized, free and transparent. Platforms deal with misinformation in different ways

The Tiktok video platform is also taking action against the rapid spread of misinformation and half-truths. Doubtful content that has been reported by a user, for example, should be checked by a fact check, including by the German Press Agency. Clearly recognizable lies should be counteracted in this way. However, since not every claim can be clearly identified as false information, according to Tiktok it is only possible to a limited extent to prevent content shared by corona deniers. After all, every user receives a warning if they want to share an unverified video. The video can still be shared afterwards. According to Tiktok, this function is intended to ensure a more conscious handling of unchecked content.
